Fortnox is Sweden's leading cloud-based business administration platform, used by over 600,000 businesses, most of them sole traders and small companies. The company is headquartered in Vaxjo, Sweden, and was founded in 2001. In 2025, EQT, a Swedish private equity firm, took Fortnox private at a valuation of approximately $5.5 billion. The platform offers modular products covering accounting, invoicing, payroll, expense management, time tracking, and CRM. Fortnox integrates directly with the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) for tax and VAT reporting and connects to Swedish banks and the Swish payment system. The company operates a marketplace with over 500 integrations and 8,500 custom API connections built by third parties. Fortnox also provides financial services through its subsidiary Mynt, including corporate cards and invoice factoring. Pricing is modular, starting at about 99 SEK per month (roughly β¬9) for the basic accounting module. Bundled packages are available at higher price points. The product and website are available only in Swedish, and Fortnox serves exclusively the Swedish market. Revenue grew 21 percent in Q1 2025.
