Luminance is a Cambridge-based legal AI platform that automates contract lifecycle management using autonomous AI agents. Its flagship feature, Lumi Go, auto-negotiates contracts and NDAs by reading counterparty terms, comparing them against a company's playbook, and applying redlines autonomously. The platform covers contract generation, review, redlining within Microsoft Word, obligation management, compliance monitoring, and eDiscovery. Luminance uses a proprietary Panel of Judges system where multiple specialized AI models cross-check each other's outputs, built on a Legal Pre-trained Transformer trained on over 150 million verified legal documents. This is not a general-purpose LLM but a purpose-built system for legal reasoning. While primarily a legal operations tool, Luminance serves in-house legal teams, procurement departments, and compliance functions across enterprises, handling vendor agreements, employment contracts, and regulatory documents. Over 700 organizations in 70 countries use the platform, including AMD, DHL, Rolls-Royce, and all Big Four consultancies. The company raised $75 million in Series C funding in February 2025, bringing total funding to $165 million. Luminance received a Queen's Award for Innovation and was named a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.
